Job Introduction

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Executive to manage end-to-end (A–Z) payroll processes. The ideal candidate will ensure all employees are paid accurately and on time, in compliance with statutory requirements and company policies. Role and Responsibilities

• Manage the full A–Z payroll cycle; from data collection to payment and reporting.
• Administer end-to-end monthly payroll using Shireburn Indigo payroll software.
• Validate attendance, overtime, allowances, deductions and other variable components.
• Administer statutory deductions such as income tax, pension contributions, social security and other local payroll requirements.
• Reconcile payroll data with accounting records and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain up-to-date employee payroll records and ensure confidentiality.
• Liaise with HR, Finance and external auditors on payroll related matters.
• Stay current with changes in payroll legislation, tax codes, and compliance requirements.
• Prepare and submit statutory reports (FS3, FS5, FS7, etc.) and support audits.
• Respond to payroll-related employee queries and resolve discrepancies professionally.
• Ensure payroll and compensation practices are compliant with Maltese legislation.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Payroll Executive, Payroll Officer, or similar role
• Proficient in Shireburn Indigo payroll software and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
• Strong interpersonal, listening and communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and build trust at all levels.
• Strong Excel and data reconciliation skills.
